The Guangdong rural folk custom sports competition has been held on Dec 13 in Xinhua village in the city of Maoming. It is meant to promote physical fitness and enrich people's lives.

The sports competition consists of many activities, such as sports competitions, folk-custom garden fairs, and national fitness monitoring. The sports competition combines farm folklore, farming culture, and rural customs to turn fieldwork into more than 10 folk sports. In order to increase the participation of the masses, winners will receive points that can be exchanged for gifts.

Volunteers also brought physical fitness monitors to villagers to monitor their personal fitness and provide technical guidance for their future exercises.

He Yang, Party chief of Xinhua village, said that "Bringing sports to the countryside and enhancing the physical fitness of villagers are our government's goals."

The Guangdong rural folk custom sports competition has been held for four years. The Administration of Sports of Guangdong Province is committed to promoting the development of farmers' fitness projects, bringing sports facilities to the countryside, and enhancing the physical fitness of farmers through the development of rural sports activities.
