Maoming's top 10 livelihood projects for 2022 were issued at the first session of the 13th Maoming Municipal People's Congress on Jan 12.

In 2022, the domestic sewage treatment of 100 new villages will be completed, including 20 in Maonan district, Dianbai district, Gaozhou county-level city, and Huazhou county-level city, 15 in Xinyi county-level city, three in Binhai New Area, and two in High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

From September 2022, girls under the age of 14 in the first grade of middle school will be vaccinated against Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) for free. The prevention and control knowledge awareness rate of HPV among these girls and their parents is greater than 90 percent. By 2030, 90 percent of girls under the age of 15 will be vaccinated against HPV.

Maoming will get through the blocked roads such as Gaoliang South Road and Xinxing Sixth Street and renovate 10 dangerous rural bridges.

Maoming will cultivate 238 college students who majored in traditional Chinese medicine for 99 township health centers and 20 public community health service centers.

Maoming will complete 350 households of the elderly with difficulties in living adapting to aging, complete the implementation of barrier-free reconstruction of 1,000 households with disabilities, and provide assistive devices for 1,500 disabled people.

Maoming will provide leasing subsidies to 1,400 households, start to construct 384 squatter settlements, and basically complete 709 squatter settlements.

Maoming will reinforce five small and dangerous reservoirs to ensure these can exert flood control and irrigation benefits.

Maoming will train 5,000 Cantonese chefs, 20,000 technicians, and 6,000 housekeepers.

Maoming's 112 towns will build social work service stations and 1,905 villages will build 381 social work service stations realizing full coverage of the city's social work service stations and social work services for the poor and special groups.

Maoming will start the renovation project of old communities in 2022 and transform 11 old communities including Lihong community.
