Through the efforts of the Dianbai government, 3,721 natural villages in Maoming's Dianbai district improved their living environment and developed their industries in 2021.

In Dec 2021, Dianbai district passed the examination and acceptance process to become the first provincial-level agricultural comprehensive standardization demonstration area in Guangdong province. Dianbai has formulated 68 technical standards of various types, which has brought about significant improvement in product value and economic benefits.

Last year was a milestone year for the Dianbai agarwood, as well as flavor and fragrance industries. Its agarwood modern agricultural industrial park passed the inspection process, while the research institute and testing center of agarwood were established. The annual sales output value of the agarwood industry totaled more than 3 billion yuan ($472.2 million). The area of agarwood planted in Dianbai has exceeded 100,000 mu (6,666.67 hectares).

Last year, the annual output value of Dianbai's construction industry was 110.3 billion yuan, an increase of 10.2 percent, which was one of the three industries in Maoming that exceeded 100 billion yuan.

At the end of 2020, Dianbai decided to start the construction of 13 unfinished roads that had been shelved for many years. These roads are now all open to traffic, with the urban road network boasting smooth traffic flow.

In 2022, Dianbai will focus on the improvement of its rural living environment, striving to possess clean and tidy villages, while improving the rural environment and bolstering residents' quality of life. It will also focus on building green buildings and bolstering its agarwood, flavors and fragrances, cultural tourism, as well as health care industries.
