Maoming will aim to become a strong industrial city and bolster its port manufacturing industry. Oriental Energy settled its third-generation propane dehydrogenation unit in Maoming with the goal of building a world-class polypropylene production base.

"The hoisting of the first tower before the Spring Festival marks that the first phase of the project has shifted to the equipment installation stage, and two towers will be hoisted one after another," said Sun Cangan, general manager of Oriental Energy.

Oriental Energy's comprehensive utilization project of alkane resources is being implemented in four stages. The first phase includes the installation of three units, which is planned to be completed in June and put into operation in October. The second phase was rolled out in September 2021.

Oriental Energy and Guangzhou Industrial Investment Holding Group signed an investment agreement for the Maoming acrylonitrile industry chain project, establishing a joint venture company for the project. The new project is scheduled to start construction at the end of March. It is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2024.
