Maoming aims to build thriving coastal economic belt

Maoming has been striving to build a thriving coastal economic belt, with the construction of Maoming Binhai New Area and port industrial projects currently in full swing.

As a result, the city has made many achievements in the construction and development of a coastal economic belt. Maoming's Bohe New Port Area has opened, the Bohe power plant has started to generate electricity, the rapeseed oil processing project of Daodaoquan Grain and Oil has been put into operation, and the first phase of Oriental Energy's project is near completion.

In recent years, Maoming has also increased investment in port infrastructure construction, broadened the development space of Maomings ports, and bolstered its coastal economy by promoting development through ports.

Bohe New Port is a rare deep-water port and an important logistics hub in the western region of Guangdong province, which plays an important role in the expansion and opening-up of Maoming.

In 2019, Bohe New Port opened and Maoming's first deep-water public terminal, the general terminal project of the Bohe New Port Area, was put into operation. On Nov 10, 2020, the port was temporarily and on March 5, 2021, the first foreign trade import and export business was launched there.

In addition, work on the second phase of the terminal at Bohe New Port has been launched, with a planned investment of 918 million yuan ($144.81 million). Two 100,000-metric-ton berths, 12 grain silos, and grain belt corridors will be built, with construction projected to start in June 2022.
