The Agricultural and Rural Department of Guangdong Province and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province recently issued the 2021 Guangdong rural tourism demonstration areas list, which included Shuanghe village in Xinyi, a county-level city under Maoming's jurisdiction.

In September 2021, Shuanghe village began its landscape renovation project, aiming to become a Xinyi model for rural revitalization.  Known as the "hometown of Chinese plums," the Shuanghe village project includes improving the tourist experience service area, establishing an e-commerce training base, bolstering parking facilities, building a waterscape corridor bridge, adding riverbank lighting, and improving riverside roads. The first phase of the project was completed in January, with the second phase expected to start in April.

Shuanghe village is one of the 15 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of Qianpai town and boasts a population of more than 6,900 people. Since this year, the number of tourists visiting Shuanghe village has exceeded 500,000.
