On April 12, the super-large 30-person hyperbaric oxygen chamber of Gaozhou People's Hospital passed the acceptance inspection and was opened, welcoming the first 13 people to experience oxygen therapy.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy uses prescribed pressure and oxygen to treat a variety of health conditions and diseases. Simply by breathing in concentrated oxygen in the pressurized environment of the chamber, the amount of oxygen being carried in a user's bloodstream, blood plasma, and tissues increases. The increased oxygen is transported throughout the entire body, boosting energy production in the mitochondria and accelerating healing processes. Experts note that hyperbaric oxygen chambers can help relieve people's tension and fatigue.

In order to meet the recuperation needs of different patients, Gaozhou People's Hospital is also equipped with three single-person hyperbaric oxygen chambers and two infant oxygen chambers in addition to the 30-person hyperbaric oxygen chamber. The oxygen inhalation masks in the cabin have been specially designed by special personnel, equipped with pneumatic ventilators, primary oxygen supply, and an atomization function, which can provide respiratory support treatment for critically ill patients. The chamber is also equipped with an intercom system, automatic sprinkler system, and an emergency pressure relief system.

"Doctors can not only pay close attention to the dynamics in the chamber through the window outside, but also communicate with the patients in the chamber through real-time video interaction through the large-screen visual monitoring system on the operating console," said Ling Zhennan, director of the hospital's hyperbaric oxygen department.
