The overpass' opening has reduced the total travel distance and time between Maoming Toll Station of the Maoming–Zhanjiang Expressway and Zhanjiang Wuchuan Airport North Toll Station to about 46 kilometers and 25 minutes respectively. The toll for a small passenger car is 21 yuan ($3).

Zhanjiang Wuchuan Airport opened on March 24. The overpass is located north of it and is adjacent to the north side of Chili village in Zhanjiang, spanning a total length of about 1.8 km. The overpass will meet the transportation needs of Zhanjiang Wuchuan Airport, Zhanjiang Airport Economic Zone, Huazhou Yangmei Industrial Park, and nearby areas.

The newly built Zhanjiang Wuchuan Airport North Station has eight toll lanes, with four entrances and four exits, which will bolster traffic efficiency.

After the opening of the overpass, vehicles coming from Wuchuan, Maoming, Huazhou, and other surrounding areas do not need to detour to reach Zhanjiang Wuchuan Airport, cutting driving time by nearly 20 minutes, which is conducive to accelerating the construction of a comprehensive transportation system in western Guangdong.
