Wampees in Xinan town, Huazhou, a county-level city in Maoming, Guangdong province, are ripe and have entered their harvest season.

Wampees are round to oblong in shape and grow in clusters. Their flesh is juicy and grape-like, with sweet to sub-acidic flavors. Fully ripe wampees are usually eaten by themselves or are used in fruit salads and various desserts.

They are a special fruit in Lingnan and have been cultivated for more than 1,500 years. Xin'an town in Huazhou is the main producing area of wampees and is known as the "hometown of fruits."

In the past, the short storage time of Wampees meant that wampees were resistant to long-distance transportation and storage, leading to poor sales volume is poor and low prices.

Since 2019, Xin'an town has adopted the cooperation model of "companies + bases + cooperatives + farmers" and adopted online sales channels to sell its wampees, which has led to the yellow skin fruit being exported around all of China.
