The park implemented a quality improvement project in 2014, which included Bijia Mountain and its adjacent four peaks, covering an area of about 1,650 mu (110 hectares).

The park quality improvement project was completed in August 2015. As a result, the park is divided into four areas by function, namely the main scenic spot, mountaineering area, forest landscape restoration area, and science popularization area.

The first phase of the park had an investment of about 15 million yuan ($2 million), which was used to build a hiking trail spanning about 2.5 kilometers, five viewing pavilions, five rest platforms, a square, a tourist service center, a cultural corridor, and a parking lot, as well as supporting street lights, cable broadcasting functions, and video surveillance services.
