The GDP of Dianbai district in Maoming reached 37.68 billion yuan ($5.58 billion) in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 3.6 percent.

Among them, the added value of its primary industry was 7.26 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.7 percent, the added value of its secondary industry was 15.02 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.6 percent, and the added value of its tertiary industry was 15.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5 percent.

In the first half of the year, the output value of its agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery industry in Dianbai district was 13.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.1 percent. The output of Dianbai vegetables was 607,000 metric tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.9 percent, the sales of live pigs were 674,800, a year-on-year increase of 11.6 percent, while its pork output was 53,800 tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.2 percent.

During this period, the number of the district’s industrial enterprises above designed size, referring to companies with an annual turnover of over 20 million yuan, increased by 17.9 percent, while Dianbai's fixed asset investment increased by 5.7 percent, its total retail sales of consumer goods was 14.72 billion yuan, and deposits in its financial institutions totaled 64.19 billion yuan.
