"In the past, there were not many birds in the village, but there were even fewer egrets," said Liu Xingwen, Party secretary of Danhai village. He added that the ecological environment of the village has improved in recent years and that the villagers' awareness of bird protection efforts has also been strengthened with hunting prohibited.

In recent years, there have been several gathering places for egrets. One of them is Shuidongwan Mangrove Wetland Park. Every day, flocks of egrets hover over the mangroves, attracting many spectators and photographers.
