The operation of the first freight train marks the opening and commercial commencement of the Maoming East Railway Logistics Park. The logistics park in Maoming will pave the way for the warehousing and docking of railway freight. The new development of this freight will also enhance and close the gap in the logistic network of Maoming railways.

As an inclusive hub in western Guangdong and an important coastal port, Maoming is located at the intersection of three national economic zones: the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Beibu Gulf, and the Hainan Free Trade Zone. This junction plays a crucial petrochemical base and energy supplier in the country.
The construction of the Bohe Port Railway will enable Maoming Port to undertake a combination of sea and rail transportation, provide a large-capacity channel for bulk cargo entering and leaving Maoming Port, and play an essential role in strengthening the service expansion of Maoming's foreign trade.
The Bohe Port Railway has been labeled a national Class II freight light port railway. The 49.84 kilometers (31 miles) train track starts from Maoming East Station of Guangmao Line in the north and ends at Bohe Port Station in Bohe Port Area, Maoming, in the south. The main line connects Maoming East Station, Huangyang Line Station, Shuangmu Station, and Bohe Port Station. Construction of the railway commenced in November 2019 and is scheduled to open to logistic transportation by the end of this year.
As an essential part of the Bohe Port Railway, the Maoming East Railway Logistics Park is located at the intersection of the four railways of Guangmao, Shenmao, Luozhan, and Bohe Port and the three expressways of Baomao, Shenhai, and Yunzhan. The traffic network of each is well developed.
The park covers an area of about 1,000 mu (67 hectares), with a total construction area of 36,000 square meters. The new cargo enclosure is based on the recent 2.6 million tons and the long-term planned cargo volume of 3.8 million tons. Five cargo lines will be built shortly, and five cargo lines and an area for customs supervision will be reserved.
