Maoming has exported 321 metric tons of longans this year, which was basically equivalent to the same period last year, with a value of 7.84 million yuan ($1.12 million), a year-on-year increase of 15.7 percent.

On Sept 7, the last batch of fresh longans, weighing 21.5 tons, was successfully exported to North America under the supervision of Maoming Customs, concluding the two month longan export season.

In order to ensure the expansion of longan exports, Maoming Customs dispatched personnel to guide longan exporters to improve their production management systems, improve the construction of quality and safety management systems, implement the monitoring and control of pests and diseases throughout the fruit production period, as well as to conduct orchard and packaging plants before the export season.

"This year, the export volume of our company's longans is twice that of last year. The customs has provided a lot of convenience and support, including the operation and application of 'Internet + customs' and other systems, making the procedures for longan export simple and convenient," said Che Huoyi, manager of Gaozhou Pearl Vegetable.
