During the National Day holiday, which fell from Oct 1 to 7, Maoming received 1.55 million tourists, generating 806 million yuan ($112 million) in tourism revenue. The city's public cultural activities venues received 79,049 people and its cultural entertainment venues received 147,914 people during that period.

Family travel and self-driving travel were the most popular tourism modes during the seven-day holiday, while urban peripheral travel, suburban travel, rural ecological tours, and short self-driving trips were also popular.

The rural scenic spots in Maoming were also a top choice among many tourists, with Shuanghe village in Xinyi, a county-level city in Maoming, Sanhua plum resort, and Jinjiang Bidao being particularly popular.

To ensure a safe and order tourism environment, Maoming's culture and tourism departments at all levels strengthened supervision, sending 213 environmental law enforcement personnel to check 41 internet service outlets, 48 entertainment venues, three performance venues, nine travel agencies and their branch offices, as well as 43 scenic areas. In addition, video monitoring was adopted to check internet service businesses.
