The Guangdong Enterprise Federation and Guangdong Entrepreneur Association recently released their 2022 Guangdong Top 500 enterprises list, which included two Maoming enterprises.

These two Maoming companies were Guangdong Xinhuayue Petrochemical Group and Maoming Petrochemical Shihua.

Established in 1980, Guangdong Xinhuayue Petrochemical Group is one of the largest refinery deep processing and ethylene post-processing enterprises in western Guangdong, as well as a leader in China's petrochemical downstream fine chemical processing industry.

In the past three years, Guangdong Xinhuayue Petrochemical Group has invested nearly 200 million yuan in R&D and built a technology research institute. The company has six doctorate and 25 master holders working at the institute, which has obtained 129 patents, including 15 invention patents.

Maoming Petrochemical Shihua is a joint-stock enterprise founded in October 1988 with the Maoming branch of China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, a major State-owned enterprise. It was the first listed company in Maoming. By the end of 2021, the company had total assets of 2.89 billion yuan and net assets of 1.17 billion yuan ($161.84 million).

Maoming Petrochemical Shihua has abundant talent and technical resources, including two Guangdong provincial fine chemical engineering technology R&D centers, four invention patents, as well as 45 utility model patents. In 2009, the company was designated a national high-tech enterprise.
