The natural village domestic sewage treatment project, which is included in the ten livelihood affairs of Maoming city in 2022, has been completed.

Maoming is one of the four pilot cities in Guangdong province for rural domestic sewage treatment. The city has been attaching great importance to the treatment of rural domestic sewage.

The city has raised funds from various sources to promote pollution control. Xinyi applied for 60 million yuan ($8.62 million) from the central water pollution prevention and control funds in 2022. It used part of the funds for rural domestic sewage treatment. Maonan district has raised more than 80 million yuan for rural domestic sewage treatment.

Maoming has implemented various models, such as the "hydrolysis acidification + ecological pond" resource utilization model, the ecological ditch and the wetland natural absorption and degradation model to improve its sewage treatment network.

Maoming has strengthened the technical guidance and social supervision of its sewage waste. The Maoming ecological environment bureau has introduced a third-party technical team to strengthen the inspection and guidance of facility construction, to help with operation and maintenance, and to organize technical training for relevant personnel.
