Maoming's imports, exports to RCEP members reach 5.47b yuan in 2022

In 2022, Maoming's imports and exports to Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries totaled 5.47 billion yuan ($806 million), with a year-on-year growth of 6.9 percent.

Among them, Maoming imported goods worth 1.08 billion yuan and exported goods worth 4.39 billion yuan from RCEP countries, up 20.25 percent.

In 2022, Maoming issued 837 RCEP certificates of origin, and 43 declarations of origin were issued by enterprises recognized by approved exporters. Goods worth 300 million yuan enjoyed preferential tariffs from importing countries.

Chemical materials, cleaning supplies, and seafood products were mainly exported to Vietnam, Thailand, Australia, South Korea and Japan that year.

Maoming has held 15 meetings on RCEP policy publicity for its enterprises, and worked out beneficial RCEP plans for each enterprise.

In 2022, Maoming Customs issued 6,230 export certificates of origin with a visa value of 3.16 billion yuan, while 10 new enterprises applied for rights to issue such certificates.

Thanks to RCEP, rice cookers produced by Guangdong Meixiang Electric Appliances have been exported to South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines and other countries. In 2022, the enterprise's export volume reached 65 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36 percent.
