Maoming's agricultural output value reached 1.13 trillion yuan ($164 billion) in 2022, ranking first in Guangdong province.

The Dianbai Agarwood Industrial Park in Maoming, which covers a total area of 586 square kilometers, has a total investment of 202 million yuan. There are more than 3,000 companies from various sectors in the park, with more than 40,000 employees, and an annual output value of more than 4 billion yuan.

By the end of 2022, Maoming had built 2.4 million mu (160,000 hectares) of high-quality farmland.

Maoming is expected to invest in farming machinery totaling 300,000 kilowatts this spring,  along with more than 46,000 sets of agricultural machinery and tools. Some 806,000 mu of land has completed tillage via machines, and the rate of mechanical arable land in Maoming has reached 98 percent.

Last year, Maoming's greenhouse cultivation area was 9,836.45 mu, and its sowing area was 20,688.03 mu, with a vegetable output of 60,194.62 metric tons.

Maoming's lychee industry achieved an output of 550,600 tons, and the sales revenue for fresh lychees reached 8.07 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 13.3 percent.

Maoming built the Maoming Lychee industry Big data platform by utilizing "5G+ internet of things + big data +AI" technologies. It is the first big data platform for the whole agricultural products industrial chain in Guangdong province.

In 2022, this platform reached 34,000 page views, and the number of business daily viewers reached 320,000.
