On June 30, the first submerged storage container for the new 300,000-metric-ton crude oil terminal in Bohe Port in Maoming was installed, marking a milestone in the construction of the South China Sea energy corridor.

The facility in Bohe Port is being invested and built by the Maoming Port Group. Plans are to build a 300,000-ton crude oil terminal and its support facilities, with a berth length of 404 meters. The annual planned throughput of the terminal will be 13.05 million tons, with an annual design capacity of 16.5 million tons.

The distance between the installation site of the submerged oil container and the breakwater gate is only 690 meters. Due to the impact of waves, the construction difficulty is rated as being high.

Designers planned and calculated the parameters of the submerged container's stability, jacking and transportation and prepared a special construction plan, which was reviewed by experts in advance to ensure construction safety.

After the completion of the project, it will serve the construction of the South China Sea energy corridor, promote Bohe Port to become an important hub for energy transportation and will aim to attract leading petrochemical enterprises to settle in Maoming.
