With its lush green mountains and beautiful waters, Xinyi county-level city is a place that excels on the path to going green, with a forest coverage rate currently estimated to be an extraordinary 68.28 percent.

The mountainous area of Xinyi accounts for more than 70 percent of its total area, with over 80 mountain ranges above 1,000 meters in elevation and over 370 peaks above 500 meters.

It's home to numerous rivers and serves as the source for the Jian River, Luoding River, Huanghua River and Beiliu River. In all, there are 49 rivers with a catchment area of more than 15 square kilometers in Xinyi.

Xinyi is also rich in mineral resources, including jade, gold, silver, copper, iron, tin, zinc, molybdenum and granite.

In addition, Xinyi is an important production hub for sweet potatoes, sweet persimmon, passion fruit, lychees and longan.
