The 2023 National Fitness Day and the Guangdong Sports Promotion Week were launched on Aug 8 at the China Lychee Expo Center in Maoming.

After the launch ceremony for the 2023 National Fitness Day, a variety of performances were staged, including aerobics, martial arts and break dancing.

The event also hosted fun sports games, basketball games and cycling races. Some 200 riders took part in a race along a route that stretched 8.8 kilometers.

During the Guangdong Sports Promotion Week, 757 sports events will be held and 175 public sports venues will be open to the public at no charge, or at low ticket prices.
