Once the bidding was completed on July 17, work began on building the stadium of the Maoming Olympic Sports Center. As of now, the stadium, gymnasium and swimming pool are under construction.

The gymnasium on the west side of the stadium is planned to have its main structure topped off by the end of September. It includes exhibition functions and can be used as a fitness and training center for the public.

Next to the gymnasium is a swimming pool. On the east side of that is a fitness center for the public, which can also be used as an exhibition center and an "e-sports" venue.

The Olympic Avenue and nearby Taihe Avenue are both under construction. The Olympic First Lane, Dazhong Second Lane, Haoxin Avenue, Shuguang Road, Dade Road, and Changqing Avenue are about to break ground soon.
