Maoming branch of 2023 South China Book Festival to open

From Aug 18 to 22, the Maoming branch of the 2023 South China Book Festival will be up and running.

The organizer invited established authors such as Ma Boyong, Shen Shixi, Xie Lejun, Chen Shige, and Su Hao to give lectures on various themes, while also holding book-sharing sessions, and book signing events.

The Maoming Library will hold a series of reading activities. Xinhua Bookstore and various private bookstores will offer discounts on book purchases, while integrating online displays, online sales, online activities, online public welfare programs, and offline activities.

From 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm every day, each bookstore will carry out flash sale activities, setting up special zones for limited-time, super-low discounted book promotions.

People who participate in reading activities or purchase books at Maoming Library, Xinhua Bookstore, Nanfang Book Center, and Dianbai Book Center can receive discount coupons worth 10 yuan ($1.37).

Maoming will also hold a children's poetry recitation contest, essay contest, knowledge contest, a painting and calligraphy exhibition, and other activities to celebrate the book festival.

In addition, Maoming will set up libraries in villages to boost farmers' enthusiasm for reading.
