On Aug 25, new progress was made on the Maoming Olympic Sports Center, the main venue for the 17th Guangdong Provincial Games. It will serve as the main venue for the 2026 Guangdong Provincial Games, marking an important milestone in the development of Maoming.

A key milestone was reached with the first pouring of concrete for the stadium. Large construction equipment such as cranes, excavators, and pumps was in use, and workers wearing safety helmets were hard at work.

Currently, Maoming is promoting the construction of infrastructure, such as the Olympic sports center and municipal roads. The construction of the Olympic sports center includes a stadium, fitness center, supporting facilities, connecting bridges, and outdoor engineering.

The stadium has a construction area of 61,537 square meters, with a seating capacity of 28,440 people and a building height of 39.95 meters.

The Maoming Olympic Sports Center incorporates Maoming's marine culture, lychee culture, and reputation for kindness, reflecting the characteristics of Maoming's history, culture, and scenery.

The relevant officer in charge of the China Construction Second Engineering Bureau, construction unit of the project, stated that they will strive to make the center's stadium a new landmark for Maoming.
