Gaozhou Botanical Garden's artificial lake micro-wetland, located in Maoming, has been selected among the first batch of 15 micro-wetland demonstration sites in Guangdong province.

The artificial lake of the micro-wetland covers an area of 22.9 mu (3.77 hectares). The surrounding ecological environment is excellent. The wetland also has a certain number of permanent residents and basic infrastructure conditions. It offers favorable conditions for forest recreation, forest cultural and scientific education, and the promotion of forestry technology achievements, driving the development of the surrounding forestry industry.

This batch of micro-wetland demonstration sites are located in10 cities, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Maoming. Each city will take the selected demonstration site as a model and promote the protection and rational utilization of micro-wetlands, further improving wetland ecosystems and human habitats, and continuously enhancing the shared green ecological area.
