The three service areas on the Maozhan Expressway – in the prefecture-level city of Zhanjiang, in South China's Guangdong province – have undergone upgrades to provide more convenient services for users.

The Dianbai service area on the expressway completed its expansion and upgrade several years ago. The parking area has been planned according to what is known as a "separation of passengers and goods" and a "color differentiation of vehicle types," with the parking capacity increased 12 times.

In addition, the service area incorporates elements of the Lingnan Window Flower and garden courtyard, creating a natural and comfortable rest environment for drivers and passengers, with special regional characteristics.

Elsewhere, the Guandu service area – located in the Potou district of Zhanjiang city – has solved the problem of long queues for toilets during peak periods by switching toilets. The Guandu service area also uses Leizhou culture and maritime culture as its design motif – with its service building in the shape of a lighthouse, while the interior presents a marine-themed atmosphere, creating a feeling of being by the ocean.

Finally, the Qianshui service area is located in the county-level city of Wuchuan, administered by Zhanjiang and is a truck-oriented service area. The design of the service building reflects the image of freight containers, also recalling the cultural influences of Wuchuan. The service area has also adopted intelligent technologies to provide intimate services.

The security monitoring system can monitor the video situation of the truck parking area in real time, ensuring the safety of the freight vehicles.
