On Nov 15, the Maoming Cultural Center (Maoming Nianli) was awarded the title of outstanding provincial intangible cultural heritage representative project protection unit for the year 2022.

Nianli is a folk activity popular in Maoming, Guangdong, that includes worshiping gods, offering sacrifices, praying, and celebrating. In the past, Nianli was prevalent in many rural villages in Maoming. The dates of Nianli in different places are determined by the ancestors of each clan and have been passed down from generation to generation, mainly concentrated from the first month of the lunar calendar to the end of February.
