Western Guangdong province, including four prefecture-level cities: Zhanjiang, Yangjiang, Maoming, and Yunfu, achieves rapid development in its green chemical, new energy, and marine ranching industries.
The Maoming Port area is accelerating the construction of a green chemical and hydrogen energy industrial park, which is set to attract investments from Fortune Global 500 companies and to be a gathering place for green petrochemical and hydrogen energy enterprises.
The petrochemical refinery comprehensive utilization project owned by Donghua Energy (Maoming) has started production in the region, with an expected annual production capacity of around 500,000 metric tons of hydrogen gas.
Since 2019, Donghai Island in Zhanjiang city has attracted 12 major projects from Fortune Global 500 companies, driving investments in downstream petrochemical industries. Additionally, manufacturing investment in Zhanjiang has grown by 114 percent, ranking first in the province.
Furthermore, Yangjiang city is expediting the development of its offshore wind power and marine ranching sector. Teaming up with Jinwan district in Zhuhai city, they are promoting the development of their marine engineering equipment manufacturing and offshore wind power projects.
Western Guangdong province has achieved high-quality development through various measures, thus promoting the transformation and upgrading of its green economy.
