Several forestry enterprises from Maoming showcased their distinctive agricultural products at the first world forestry industry conference, which was held in Nanning from Nov 24 to 26.

Maoming's "Six Trees" industry, which includes litchi, longan, tangerine, agarwood, Sanhua plum, and oil tea trees, received high praise from conference visitors.

Agarwood, a precious traditional Chinese medicine with multiple health benefits, caught the interest of Middle Eastern customers. Shangshan Agarwood Technology Company from Maoming city achieved business transactions worth hundreds of thousands of yuan at the event.

Purchasers and exhibitors conducted negotiations at the exhibition hall, and many businesses signed cooperative agreements with purchasers. Participating enterprises stated that attending the exhibition allowed them to learn about current industry trends and market demands, while also increasing their brand visibility and influence.

In recent years, Maoming has developed distinctive economic forests and forest tourism industries, forming several unique forestry industries. The city's planted economic forest area is approximately 1.62 million hectares, with an annual output value of about 40 billion yuan ($5.6 billion). Over one million people are engaged in forestry-related agricultural activities, earning over 10,000 yuan in per capita annual income.
