Huaixiang town in Xinyi, a county-level city in Maoming, is known as the "Hometown of Bamboo Crafts."

Xinyi is situated in the mountainous region of western Guangdong province. Its mild and rainy climate and fertile soil make it suitable for bamboo growth. Bamboo woven products from this area are popular overseas due to their exquisite craftsmanship and environmentally friendly characteristics.

The bamboo weaving enterprises in Huaixiang town are striving to improve product quality and market competitiveness through innovative research and development, as well as online sales models.

Xinyi Yuefeng Craft Company, located in Huaixiang town, exported a batch of wooden storage boxes worth 410,000 yuan ($57,405) to North America using the cross-border e-commerce business to business (B2B) export model.

The Huaixiang town government has prioritized the development of the bamboo weaving industry to promote economic growth. They also have accelerated the construction of the Huaixiang Bamboo Weaving Industrial Park and Product Exhibition Center. Some bamboo weaving enterprises have also started to transform and upgrade their production processes, shifting from extensive and mass production to artistic, and branded products.

With the global trend of bamboo instead of plastic, Huaixiang's bamboo weaving enterprises have begun to produce bamboo-made household items, crafts, and decorations, aiming to seize the international market.
