Recently, Maoming city has been undergoing the Maoming Avenue Renovation Project, with the Marine Avenue Interchange Project serving as the leading node of the transformation. Currently, 55 percent of the overall project has been completed.

The plan is to finish the bridge superstructure construction before the Spring Festival this year and complete the entire project by the end of the year.

The Marine Avenue Interchange Project has a total length of 1.3 kilometers and adopts a structure with the main road elevated and the ground auxiliary road.

The Maoming Avenue Rapidization Project has a total investment of 4.43 billion yuan ($617.4 million), an essential measure for promoting urban layout in Maoming city. The project is set to be implemented in stages, with the Marine Avenue Interchange being the first phase. The next phase includes the Maonan Avenue Interchange, the Citizen Avenue Interchange, and the Xiali South Road Interchange.

The Maonan Avenue Interchange and the Citizen Avenue Interchange held groundbreaking ceremonies at the end of last December and are expected to begin construction after the Spring Festival. The plan is to complete the building by the end of 2025.

After the completion of the project, the entire 28-km stretch is poised to have no traffic lights, achieving true rapidization and further improving Maoming's comprehensive transportation system, promoting the development into a smart and compact district.
