The liquefied gas carrier Lady Xian completed its maiden voyage and returned to Maoming's Jida Port area on Jan 3.

The liquefied gas carrier, operated by Donghua Energy (Maoming) Company, completed a return journey. The 50,000 metric tons of propane loaded on the ship were transported through kilometers-long pipelines to storage tanks, and then processed in the facilities for production.

With a capacity of 93,000 cubic meters, the vessel is currently the world's largest dual-fuel liquefied gas carrier, designed for transporting propane raw materials required for the Maoming project.

Donghua Energy named the ship "Lady Xian" to honor traditional culture and pay tribute to Lady Xian, a spiritual leader in Maoming. The name is meant to represent the city's spirit of kindness and Lady Xian culture.

On Sept 15, 2023, Phase I of Donghua Energy's (Maoming) comprehensive project for hydrocarbon resources entered its trial production phase, producing at least 1,200 tons of polypropylene per day and providing a reliable supply of raw materials for the project's normal operations.

The fully loaded 50,000-ton propane carried by the Lady Xian gas carrier ensures a continuous supply of raw materials for the project's regular operations.

The Lady Xian gas carrier's first voyage not only marks the start of full operations for Donghua Energy's Maoming project but also demonstrates Maoming's commitment to integrating Lady Xian culture with the development of the Maritime Silk Road.
