Maoming has taken the litchi industry as its flagship, establishing the first big data center for the litchi industry in Guangdong province. This center covers over 300,000 households in 18 key fruit towns, utilizing big data to monitor litchi growth and pest situations, providing production technical guidance, and addressing the challenge of litchi preservation. Additionally, it has developed deep processing of litchi, thereby increasing income for litchi farmers.

Maoming is improving the rural living environment and pushing the standard rate of beautiful and livable villages to 72.43 percent, with a 66 percent rate of rural domestic wastewater treatment. The harmless sanitary toilets in rural areas across the city have been popularized, with a 100 percent coverage rate for the collection, transportation, and disposal of rural household waste and rural sanitation coverage.
