In the process of implementing the "Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Project" to promote the coordinated development of urban and rural areas in Maoming, Shenzhen has provided significant support.

The "Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Project," championed by the Communist Party of China (CPC) Guangdong Provincial Committee and aiming at fostering high-quality development in one hundred counties, one thousand towns, and ten thousand villages, stands as a strong effort by Guangdong to accelerate high-quality development throughout the province.

Shenzhen, as a special economic zone and first-tier city in Guangdong province, possesses significant advantages in terms of funding, technology, and talent.

Sunwoda, a Shenzhen-based company engaged in the new energy vehicle industry, signed an agreement with the people's government of Dianbai district, Maoming in December 2022.

Once the project is completed and reaches full production capacity, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of around 6 billion yuan ($840 million), create over 1,000 jobs, and become the highest-value manufacturing project in Dianbai.

By attracting high-quality enterprises and projects, Maoming is promoting industrial upgrading and optimizing its economic structure, while also drawing back many young natives to contribute to the development of their hometowns.

Li Changyuan, who previously worked in design in Shenzhen, returned to his hometown of Xinyi and opened a studio where he combines his academic expertise with the traditional culture, tourism attractions, and modern aesthetics of his hometown.

Shuanghe village boasts picturesque scenery. Focusing on Sanhua Li, Xinyi is creating a number of immersive cultural tourism experiences. Young people returning to their hometowns have developed boutique homestay areas, enriching the tourism landscape.

Last year, the first batch of typical counties, towns, and villages were announced for Guangdong Province's "Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Project," with Maoming having two cities, seven towns, and 59 villages selected, including Shuanghe village.
