S China city leads in foreign trade growth

Zhanjiang, a port city in Guangdong province, recorded 0.4 percent growth in foreign trade in the first four months of this year, 3.5 and 23.9 percentage points higher than the national and provincial increases respectively.

Foreign trade of the city in the January-April period stood at 10.22 billion yuan, reported Guangzhou Daily.

Imports and exports to emerging markets showed positive momentum, with those to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations surging 24.1 percent and those to Brazil up 210 percent.
