Zhanjiang's foreign trade exceeds $5.64b in Jan-Nov

The total value of exports and imports in Zhanjiang from January to November was 36.91 billion yuan ($5.64 billion), of which 4.04 billion yuan was for November alone, according to statistics recently released by Zhanjiang Customs.

In terms of trade methods, the import and export of general trade in the first 11 months of the year saw an increase of 3.5 percent to 29.27 billion yuan, making up 79.3 percent of Zhanjiang's total foreign trade. The import and export total of bonded logistics from January to November reached 4.18 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.1 percent.

In terms of enterprise categories, the imports and exports of private enterprises in Zhanjiang saw an increase of 0.4 percent to 17.8 billion yuan, making up 48.2 percent of the city's total foreign trade. State-owned enterprises in Zhanjiang had a total import-export volume of 11.85 billion yuan in the first 11 months of this year, a 4.8 percent year-on-year increase, which accounted for 32.1 percent of the city's total foreign trade volume.

From January to November, the city's imports and exports to Brazil reached 7 billion yuan, up 9.9 percent year-on-year, while those to the European Union were 3.56 billion yuan, an increase of 14.2 percent.

The imports and exports of Zhanjiang to the United States were 2.66 billion yuan, increasing by 13.8 percent from that of the same period of the previous year.

Since the beginning of this year, Zhanjiang Customs has been optimizing its services to serve the high-quality development of the local economy.

The 59 supportive measures to stabilize foreign trade in Zhanjiang have been implemented by the customs, while the number of materials needed for a ship's records has been reduced from 48 to 13. Intelligent examination of 16 kinds of certificates of origins (C/Os) has also been launched by the customs.
