The Xuwen Port Comprehensive Transportation Hub project, the world's largest passenger ro-ro (roll on/roll off) terminal at Xuwen Port in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, is scheduled to open for service on Sept 26.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) recently launched the first batch of 66 national designated fishing ports for the landing of marine fishing catches. Among them, seven fishing ports are in Zhanjiang.
The Zijing-23 ro-ro passenger ship made four safe berths at the ferry terminal of Xuwen Port in Zhanjiang on July 31, marking a successful result for the port's first no-load trial berthing.

The first National Aquatic Skills Competition for College Students will be held at the Huguang Campus of Guangdong Ocean University in Zhanjiang, South China's Guangdong province from Nov 22 to 24.
