Thousands of orchids came to full blossom at Lvtang River Wetland Park in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, attracting a large number of visitors.

Blossoming in a fascinating lavender hue, the sea of flowers lured local residents outside for activities at the park, taking photos among the stunning flowers.

Originating in Mexico, orchids were introduced to Zhanjiang years ago. Orchids are adaptable to the environment and grow well under Zhanjiang's humid climate. The flowering phase of the orchid species spans from early spring to late autumn, blossoming every day.

Because of their wide popularity among Zhanjiang residents, related departments have planted orchids in several local parks as well as the city green belt, adding extra luster to Zhanjiang.
