Construction of the cargo-passenger ro-ro (roll on/roll off) terminal of Xuwen Port is 35 percent complete with more than 200 staffs working around the clock. With an investment of 1.2 billion yuan ($180 million), it is expected start operating by 2018.

Projected to handle 3.2 million vehicles and receive 17.28 million passengers per year, the port will make its services more convenient for both ships and passengers. A seamless transfer and intellectualization of information management will also be achieved.

Upon completion, it will not only serve as a comprehensive transportation hub integrating high-speed passenger ships, cargo-passenger ro-ro ships, high-speed trains and cars, but also a small town equipped with petrol stations, hotels and restaurants.
