The 2018 Zhanjiang Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition concluded on June 8, with Guangdong Hongji Down Product and Xiaozuo Xiaoyou Wall Painting Studio winning the first prize under the enterprise and maker categories, respectively.

The Zhanjiang division formed part of the 2018 Maker in Guangdong Competition. It was sponsored by the Economic and Information Bureau of Zhanjiang and the Zhanjiang Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Bureau to discover the next generation of innovative minds and turn their ideas into reality.

This year, there were 49 projects signed for the competition. Only 22 of them stood out to be rated as excellent after preliminaries, semi-finals and expert review. They were from various areas such as information technology, digital creative, biomedicine, green & low carbon and high-end manufacturing.

Following on from this, these 22 enterprises will receive support from the government in terms of preferential policies, fund-raising, industrial match-making and talent training. They will be prioritized when applying for city-level financial funding and qualification authentication.

Meanwhile, the entries will be recommended to domestically renowned investment funds and venture investment institutions to gain investment, while being introduced to leading enterprises in the domain for match-making.
