On Oct 12, Zhanjiang Airport began using electronic boarding passes that allow passengers to check in online and pass security and boarding procedures with a QR code.

Passengers need only log into the "Umetrip" app and download the generated QR code after choosing a seat.

Travelers must present a valid identity document and e-boarding pass at the security channel, after which a security check seal will appear near the QR code.

Personnel at the boarding gate will scan the QR code and print a voucher, which will be reviewed by a security guard on the concourse.

Those using e-boarding passes should make sure their cellphones are ready to display the QR code before they need to present it.

Children under 12, as well as travelers who need to check baggage or transfer flights, have a baby, or require special service, should check in at the airline counter.

Some flights have not yet implemented this system, and passengers still need to follow the usual boarding procedures.
