A total of 400 Zhanjiang cyclists rode through ancient villages, alleys, and cultural monuments along Southern Guangdong Old Post roads on Oct 14.
Starting from the Zhanjiang Sports Center, the 80-kilometer activity route goes northward along the national road G325, passing Shimen Bridge, Guandu Town, and Guange and Paocheng villages. Roadside cultural relics include Shuangfeng Tower, Zhuangyuan (No.1 Scholar) Archway, and Jipu Pavilion.

After a short break at the pavilion, the cyclists set out again toward the Taiwei Bridge, Big Shanjiang Bridge, and Tanba Town, before finally crossing the finish line at the Loong Bay International Ocean Resort.
Since 2016, the event has been organized by the Zhanjiang Sports Bureau with the support of local cycling and historic site protection associations.
The event used the physical health of the cyclists to encourage residents to exercise outdoors. In addition to promoting a positive and healthy lifestyle, it also offered nourishment of a cultural and historical nature.
