Henan Huaying Poultry Group will invest 3 billion yuan ($431 million) to set up a wholly-owned subsidiary -- Guangdong Huaying Agriculture Development Co Ltd -- in Leizhou under a cooperation agreement signed with local government on Nov 26.

The affiliate is its 7th domestic industrial base at home and will primarily engage in duck breeding, processing, sales and R&D. It will encompass a paper mulberry plantation base, duck incubation base, fodder factory, slaughter base, processing factory, cold-chain logistics warehouse and down jacket factory.

Support facilities will include comprehensive office buildings, residential areas, a test center, an R&D center, an exhibition center, and a vocational skills training school.

Once put into operation, the company is expected to produce more than 40 million ducks and generate an output value of over 3 billion yuan annually. A total of around 6,000 jobs will be provided for locals.

Founded in 1991, Henan Huaying Poultry Group is one of the world’s largest whole-industrial-chain duck enterprises, whose products are popular in New Zealand, Ukraine and Canada. It was designated as a food supplier for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympics, and 2016 G20 Summit.
