Two bullet trains, D9763 and D9764, have been temporarily opened from Feb 12 to 16 to help deal with heavy post-holiday traffic.

D9763 departs from Guangzhou at 9:13 am, passing through Shuangshui town, Taishan, Enping, Yangjiang, Yangxi, Dianbai, and Maoming before terminating in Zhanjiang at 1:03 pm. Tickets for first-class seats cost 352 yuan ($52), while second-class and standing tickets are priced at 228 yuan.

D9764 sets off from Zhanjiang at 11:38 am and runs through Maoming, Mata, Yangjiang, Enping, Shuangshui town and Xinhui before arriving in Guangzhou at 2:46 pm.

Another peak travel period is expected to occur from Feb 18 to 21, as university students return to school for a new semester. People with travel plans are advised to buy their tickets in advance.
