A Zhanjiang native surnamed Lu said that she had chosen to work in Beijing after graduation but was considering returning home, as salaries in Zhanjiang have increased and she would be able to spend more time with family.
In recent years, more and more people, like Ms Lu, are choosing to work in their hometowns due to Zhanjiang's rapid economic and social development, according to an executive from the local employment service management center.
This year, the Zhanjiang Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau plans to host 135 job fairs targeting a variety of groups.
