Party chief calls on Zhanjiang to build distinctive 5G industrial chain

On May 6, Zheng Renhao, Party chief of Zhanjiang, experienced the 5G technology brought by the China Mobile Zhanjiang Branch and learned that this special technology is capable of bringing great changes to people's lives in the future.

The Party chief tried out a range of application scenarios based on 5G technology, covering areas such as long-distance education, high-definition video playback, high-speed download, and cloud computing.

The 5G network has the characteristics of large bandwidth, low latency, high reliability, and massive connectivity. The integration of 5G and various industries will bring about the birth of many innovative applications, thus promoting the development of social productivity.

Following the official opening of two 5G stations on March 16 this year, the China Mobile Zhanjiang Branch will set up two 5G test stations in Zhanjiang Port (Group) Co., Ltd. and Central People's Hospital of Zhanjiang in mid-May to promote the application of 5G in port management and the medical industry. 

The construction of a smart city is inseparable from a high-speed, secure network system. As the 5G era arrives, Zhanjiang's informatization and 5G construction must be accelerated, the Party chief said.

Currently, 5G technology is in its infancy, which is a good opportunity for Zhanjiang. Zheng urged the China Mobile Zhanjaing Branch to accelerate the promotion and application of 5G in Zhanjiang, integrate 5G with big data, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence to develop distinctive industrial chains with Zhanjiang characteristics to achieve rapid development for the city's information technologies.
