On May 6, Jiang Jianjun, deputy Party chief and mayor of Zhanjiang, led a delegation to Xuwen county to inspect local poverty-alleviation efforts.
The mayor first paid a visit to Erqiao village in Nanshan town, where precise poverty relief work has been carried out. The village has managed to raise the incomes of poor households by inviting them to take part in collectively-invested enterprises, improving the cultivation methods of agricultural products, and setting up an "Internet +organic agricultural products industry" by launching online display and sales platforms.

Currently, a thematic B&B with distinctive local features has been set up and become operational in Erqiao village, and the mayor urged the local government to dig deeper into the value of local agricultural products. He also stressed the need to improve the processing chain, increase the added value of products, stimulate the vitality of rural industrial development, and boost rural tourism.
Jiang also paid a visit to a poor household in Shiwei village in Xuwen county, where he listened carefully to the family's difficulties. He encouraged the family to face their challenges and improve their lives through hard work and urged the local government to strengthen poverty relief efforts.
Later, Jiang attended a special session on precise poverty relief and was briefed on Xuwen's specific efforts in promoting rural revitalization and poverty alleviation. He urged the government at all levels to strengthen efforts to enhance precise poverty alleviation, coordinate the work of rural revitalization and poverty alleviation, upgrade rural settlements, build ecologically livable and beautiful villages, and take the lead in the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy to win the battle against poverty.
