A group of left-behind children from Zhanjiang's Chikan district, South China's Guangdong province wrote a message of congratulations to their families at a summer camp on July 8.

The camp, which will last for more than 10 days, is organized by the district’s committee for women and children affairs, women's federation, and education bureau.

The children will attend courses including handicrafts, calligraphy and painting, as well as etiquette. They will also be offered tutoring and guidance on schoolwork.

In addition, they will have outdoor experiences, offering voluntary services, promoting traffic safety, and other activities with patriotic party themes.

According to the organizers, left-behind children and the children of immigrant workers in the district were provided free access to the summer camp, and more than 100 children are taking part in it.

An officer from the local women's federation said that similar charity activities will be held with more organizers.
