The Zhanjiang branch of the 2019 South China Book Festival and the Zhanjiang Book Fair ended successfully on Aug 20. According to incomplete statistics, this year's book fair attracted more than 260,000 readers, achieving both social and economic benefits.

During the five-day event, more than 50 activities themed around books and culture were carried out on the spot, including new book launches, readers' meetings, book signings, and lectures by more than 30 famous celebrities. 

The 2019 Zhanjiang Book Fair focused on local characteristics. It established the Zhanjiang Characteristic Culture Exhibition Area, displaying all the development achievements of characteristic agricultural products and poverty-stricken agricultural products, folk culture, tourism culture, as well as cultural and creative products in various forms through objects and pictures.

As a brand event that promotes reading for all sectors of the public, the annual book fair brings people not only the pleasure of reading, but also encourages them to form the habit of long-term reading.
